PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This food hall concept restaurant was built out for EUA / BurkettDesign’s long time client, Charter Communications at their newest location, Charter Communications Village Center Station II (VCS II). This building houses both this retail cafe and a conference center above. Urban Market 6350 serves as both the catering kitchen for Charter and an open concept food hall open to the public as well as being convent for Charter’s own employees.
The space features five distinct food stations along with grab-and-go cold fridges all available for checkout at cashless kiosks. I worked together with a team of three and our project manager to realize the clients concept. The central feature, a fresh salad bar with deli-sliced meats counter, is a round station wrapped in vertical stacked white tile. A custom designed ceiling installation mirrors the volume below and was designed using SketchUp for visualization of concepts. The open ceiling look was coordinated with our MEP consultants in Revit. Other areas of high coordination include the wood fire pizza oven and the open kitchen looks of each of the food stations.
I helped design the look and feel of this food hall along with the architect, as well as assisted with presentation documents for the client and coordination of the various vendors.
