Happy Weekend + Koh Phangan, Stockholm

01_hero

If you are ever in Stockholm you HAVE to visit Koh Phangan. It’s amazing and magical. Like they’ve accessed some sort of space/time continuum to transport you from from frozen Stockholm to sunny, happy Thailand. Everyone is so friendly, the food is authentic and the drinks were divine. I had a wonderful concoction of pineapple, coconut and rum with about 16 straws and/or sparkly palm trees. Oh, and there’s a faux thunderstorm every once in a while (which is why I’m distracted in this photo, not enough to stop enjoying my drink, though). Koh Phangan is wonderful kitschy fun with a glow in the dark cherry on top!

Happy (Valentine’s) Weekend + Stockholm

Happy Weekend!

I’m knee deep in party planning for baby Camp’s shower. Which means lots of party DIY will be happening this weekend. I’m so excited to get crafting!

acrossthewaterat_Nybrokajen

This shot is from our trip up to Stockholm last week for the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair. It’s taken looking across the water at Nybrokajen as we walked to Vasamuseet. I am starting to think there is nothing more beautiful than light on water, especially after these cloudy late winter days. Is it almost spring, yet?

My favorites so far include PP Møbler and their floating chair installation, Materia with their beautiful Hal (a height adjustable table), Almedahls (see the lovely pink + red carpet above), Kvadrat‘s hanging fabric rippling in the breeze, and Louis Poulsen has some nice new things I hadn’t seen yet. More to come tomorrow so follow me if you want your feed filled with all things #2015SFF, ’cause it’s not over yet!

Happy Weekend + Flensburgska Huset

IMG_0492

When there is a sunny day in Sweden, it’s nearly criminal to not go for a walk. This beautiful 16th century house is just a few minutes walk from our house, on Södergatan, the major walking street in Malmö. It’s called Flensburgska Huset and it’s definitely one of my favorite buildings around town. I love the stripped red and white stripped brick and the windows with a million tiny panes. There’s even a coffee shop right across the walking street so you can sit and think about the 419 years of history this little house has seen.

// minted news

Happy Weekend + Gråbrødretorv in Copenhagen

IMG_0382_mod

We took a Christmas market adventure in December to Copenhagen, Denmark and stumbled upon this nearly hidden colorful square while wondering in search of presents. Gråbrødretorv is lined with colorful buildings dating from 1728 to 1807 and has one big tree right in the middle. I think we found the perfect place to take a break from Strøget, the hectic main shopping street just a few blocks away. There are quite a few restaurants and cafés with outdoor seating perfect for having a beer and people watching. We’ll definitely be finding our way back here in the summer, maybe in July when the square plays host to a Copenhagen Jazz Festival stage.

Have a happy weekend, everyone!
